David Talmage

2019 Candidate for East Hampton Town Trustee

      A proud father of 3 boys and 2 grandsons, Dave traces his heritage back to the nine founding families of East Hampton. Graduating from East Hampton High School in 1977  Dave then earned a B.A. in History from Norwich University in Vermont on an Army ROTC scholarship. After graduation, Dave received a Regular Army commission as a 2lt. and servedin the Infantry as an Airborne Ranger.  Seriously injured in a training accident in Ft.Lewis, Washington, Dave was medically retired as a Captain. Returning to East Hampton with his family, Dave earned an M.S. in Computer Education from C.W. Post. While working as a computer programmer back in his home town, Dave also found himself deeply involved in community affairs.  In the late 80s and early 90s, he was elected to 2 terms as an East Hampton Town Trustee, serving as Assistant Clerk for 1 year, and Clerk of the Trustees during his second term.  Dave has also served as Vice President of the Springs School Board, and as an Elder of the Springs Presbyterian Church. From 1994 until 2018, Dave primarily lived in Maine with his family, spending summers in East Hampton.  Now back in East Hampton full time, Dave seeks to once again serve the community he loves.
